Summary
The clouds part just ahead, angelic, almost, Connor muses as Hank throws an arm around his shoulder. The kind of quiet gesture that doesn't need words, and he drinks it in. Every leaf bristling in the wind, every droplet of moisture lingering in the air, every dash of flitting sunlight.
OR
Hank, Connor, Markus, Simon, North, and Josh go on a road trip. Where to? Who knows. What really matters is the memories they're making along the way.

Summary
They're like siblings, in a way. Though the idea makes Connor feel slightly ashamed, perhaps embarrassed, when he thinks about it. Connor and North are exceptionally different people. Different people who find a strange, floating sense of kinship around one another. Different people who are too avoidant to admit they care.
OR
North gets rejected by Markus and goes to who else but her brother-figure to vent about it? Though the whole situation digs up unwanted memories and insecurities for her.

Summary
Connor didn't understand. Then again, when did he understand? When did he ever understand the complexities of human emotion and attachment the way everyone else did? None of it came easy to him, yet everyone was bursting with understanding and love. He'd been the only one who'd avoided the girl as if she were the plague. He wants to leave. Alice steps forward with a brave face, as if the world could be nothing but kind, and he resents her.
OR
Living weapon/child soldier! Connor meets Alice, Kara and Luther's adopted daughter. As much as he tries, he simply can't bring himself to like her.
