At 19, he understood what it meant to be a field ninja and he realized in tandem that he could never teach himself to wash blood out of the clothes he was always told his parents were proud to wear.
At 20, he understood what it meant to be a teacher and he learned that no amount of re-reading could change how abysmally low the rate of survival for genin who didn’t retain everything they had been taught.
At 21, he met Naruto Uzumaki.
At 21… Iruka Umino finally understood why his parents could throw away everything so easily. He understood, because he was looking at Naruto clutching his stomach hungrily as bruises littered whatever his baggy clothes didn’t. Grabby hands beckoning for his help even in fitful sleep the way a baby would beg for it’s mother’s comfort, whimpers that quieted themselves like a child who no longer believed they’d be heard by anyone helpful.

Summary
It’s all darkness. No, even worse, it’s advanced darkness; he is still alive, but he has no senses whatsoever, as is the nature of being unconscious. Despite that, under this temporary veil, Sokka manages to understand something vaguely spoken to him with no voice or sound in his own mind, as if the concepts and implications of the statements were being directly inserted into his skull, brought to him directly from the spirits beyond:
“The seemingly smallest change can have the greatest consequences, just as the largest change can have none at all. To all existence, fate will continue to be a non-consensual command with no question of dissent. Will you comply?”
And in due time, Sokka will wake, and he will remember the… future?
Or, in short, TL;DR:
Sokka sustains blunt force trauma to the head during his visit to the Southern Air Temple, which apparently is the perfect opportunity for him to be endowed with spirit mumbo-jumbo (as he would put it), allowing him to “remember” events that haven't happened yet(?). One question remains to be answered: Should Sokka rock the boat and risk it all for what he thinks is the greater good, or let it play out, turmoil and all?Bookmarked by Urusami

All too happy to take everything from Cloud, Sephiroth obliged him. Sadly, for Sephiroth, things didn't quite go as planned.It happened so quickly. Cloud could hardly understand what he was seeing when finally, he dropped from midair and slammed through one floor, and then another and then left a solid impact crater on yet another floor. Alarms blared in the distance and electricity sparked from the damage. Cloud faced a closed window and saw several once destroyed but somehow now intact reactors release exhaust into the sky.
"What the?" The voice of a child exclaimed.
Cloud looked in the reflection of the window and saw Zack. A very much alive, much younger, currently slack-jawed, Zack.
