VOLLEYBALL IS ALWAYS THE ANSWER!
Welcome to AeqVB! This is A Haikyuu x Tokyo Ghoul “good end” fusion. It will be predominantly character studies.
For Haikyuu fans who don’t know Tokyo Ghoul: The basic premise of Tokyo Ghoul is that there is another species of people that look essentially the same as humans on the outside, but they are obligate human-vores. They can only digest humans and coffee. In the original setting, ghouls are hunted near to extinction by the CCG, Commission for Counter Ghoul, because the primary method of sourcing food is serial killing random people. In this AU, it is assumed that the CCG and societal perception were massively reformed such that ghouls are not actively hunted any more, and do not have to actively kill people to survive. It’s not perfect, and this series will aim to explore this. If you are curious about my worldbuilding, my initial brainstorming can be found on tumblr under the #hq tg au mkii tag, but it is full of spoilers.
For Tokyo Ghoul fans who don’t know Haikyuu: You may be confused, as this is essentially Tokyo Ghoul speculative worldbuilding through the lens of Haikyuu characters. But nothing is stopping you from reading this :D

Summary
The Wild is a mirror, a magic realm of possibility parallel to the mundane one, and people like Luffy, changelings who've made a devil's bargain for power, walk the line between worlds daily.
When Luffy makes a mad dash to rescue his brother from certain death, he sets off a chain of events that makes the very foundations of that realm shudder. Soon, he's got several other people along for the ride, and the situation quickly spirals out of control. There's something the people in power aren't saying, and it might be the key to all the strange events that keep happening around them.
Luffy just wants adventure and fun and freedom. Law just wants to be left alone to live his life. Kid wants to never be beholden to someone else again. And Ace just wants some goddamn agency for once.
But there are other entities in the Wild with agendas of their own, and they don't care about what others want at all.

Summary
After going through physical and mental abuse by his sensei and getting kicked out of several foster homes, 14-year-old Zoro ends up in a terrible group home. Not willing to give up his passion, he breaks into a dojo to train in secret. When the owner, Dracula Mihawk, discovers the talented boy, he decides to train him. When he learns the details of Zoro’s situation, he even decides to take the teen in.
Mihawk has made a terrible mistake. He had thought offering Roronoa a better option than a group home would be enough, but he quickly realizes the boy needs more help than the sword-master can offer. There is one person he could ask for help. Someone he hadn’t spoken to in a long time… But surely Shanks would be willing to help him, right?
