    Delicate isn’t a word that normally fits Simon. He’s rough around the edges, sharp and mean and a little too easy to jostle the wrong way. Delicacy is something he usually saves for weapons: for running a finger against a blade or slipping a finger in to gently lube a well-loved gun.

    But sometimes it’s given to John in moments like this, wrapped in lace and dolled up by drugstore makeup, and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t show his appreciation.

    John sometimes thinks he may well have died and gone to heaven with the things Simon does. Simon likes playing housewife, and John finds it hard to believe he isn’t better at it than any woman he knows.

    Un-fucking-believable, really.
