steve likes quentin. meg notices it like glaring, flashing neon sign. steve notices her noticing it, but he doesn’t say anything about it so she doesn’t either. quentin doesn’t notice anything at all. this is devastating for steve, who doesn’t seem to know how to act like a human being when the kid is near him and for meg, who’s got to watch it all.
she’s a bold person, though. she doesn’t let something go on for too long. like, she has a level of respect - a lot of people might not know that about her. she does, though. she knows between right and wrong; she’s hotheaded but generally she knows what’s an assholish thing to do or say.
this is getting fucking sad, though. something has to be done.
