Every few years, Okhema Kingdom holds a grand royal ball, inviting various neighboring kingdoms to attend and enjoy the sights that Okhema has to offer. This year, however, Kremnos Kingdom, which has had its borders mysteriously closed for many, many years, suddenly confirmed its attendance in Okhema. And, of course, Aglaea assigns Phainon to be their guard during the duration of their stay.

Summary
There are certain rules that come with being in prison, or, at least, this prison. Rule one is to keep yourself out of other people's business. You see nothing. You hear nothing. Walk in on something? No, you didn't. That's how Wriothesley has been able to keep himself out of trouble. Most of the guards in this place are affiliated with the Fatui. Don't bother them, they won't bother you, and everyone's happy. Keep your head down and wait until your sentence is finished.
But things started changing when they got a new warden...

“If he dies, he is useless to us,” he shrugs. Cold, cruel words leave Wriothesley’s mouth—he catches from the edge of his vision how Neuvillette’s head hangs lower than before. Dougier doesn’t interrupt him, which is a good sign, encouraging him to continue, “I think you may underestimate his stubbornness: once you left, he almost fell over.” It’s a little bit of a lie—but it is not that far from the truth. “Our Meropide can’t use a dead judge—I am sorry, Boss, but I didn’t want him to take his last breath when you just left me here alone.”
20 years ago, Wriothesley went to prison, with Iudex Neuvillette presiding over his trial - after his release, he made a deal with the Garde and became an undercover agent. Now his mission seems to have a chance to succeed due to the distraction that Neuvillette's kidnapping is causing... Believing in the Iudex's impartiality and the goodness he has been doing for this city, Wriothesley's resolve and cover get tested: he had finally gained the mafia Boss' trust, but this also invokes his involvement with their hostage.
But maybe, there is still a way for Wriothesley to succeed while they both get out alive...
