Summary
“Murder is one thing,” said Stede. “Who around here hasn’t done a bit of murder, now and then? But methodically entombing someone under the floor is just being a touch extra about it, don’t you think?”
“Exactly! There’s a perfectly good ocean right there for dumping bodies in! Nature’s corpse disposal service!”
“Just think of all the fish he might have fed!”
(In which Ed and Stede's prospective inn may or may not be cursed and/or haunted, but it's definitely cockblocking them.)

“I wasn’t aware that Starfleet banned bad jokes. How shockingly sensible of them, if a little out-of-character. They should consider extending the ban to officer interactions with poor, unsuspecting civilians.”

"You’re saying that Dr. Bashir regularly fraternizes with a Cardassian exile?”
“I was under the impression that promoting interspecies cooperation was one of Starfleet’s primary goals.”
“And you’re missing the point,” snapped Zimmerman. “Dr. Bashir has regular contact with a Cardassian exile and didn’t think this information was relevant to share with the project.”

“Why he?” asked Kira curiously. “How can you tell, if you can’t talk to him?”
“Oh. I don’t know.” Odo frowned. “I didn’t really give it much thought.”
“Maybe you should.”
(Note: This can theoretically be read as a standalone, but probably works better if you've read one of the earlier works in this series, particularly "This Be the Verse.")

"This Be The Verse" Verse by Vermin_Acolyte (Vermin_Disciple), Vermin_Disciple
Fandom Star Trek, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: The Next Generation
08 Dec 2023
Summary
They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
-Philip Larkin, This Be The VerseOr, Vermin’s insane Babies Ever After Kidfic AU Extravaganza, which is not quite as cynical as the poem it’s named for.
The primary points of AU canon divergence here are that the baby Changeling from “The Begotten” (S5E12) survived, Jadzia was not killed in "Tears of the Prophets" (S6E26), Bashir and Garak managed to resolve all those years of UST sometime in the later seasons, and all this resulted in (nearly) everyone’s canon endings getting scrambled.

Aqua Love Notes Waterproof Notepad by Vermin_Disciple
Fandom Star Trek, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
03 Jul 2023
Summary
So, this started when I bought a waterproof notepad to stick on my shower wall, in order to jot down those sudden flashes of inspiration that are wont to strike when you are nowhere near a writing implement. My mother, who is a frequent houseguest, couldn't resist the urge to decorate it with DS9 related graffiti. I responded with DS9 fic, and a new and questionable mother-daughter tradition was born.
Note that there is no continuity in this series. They're all just one-shots united by the medium of shower notepad. Mom writes the prompts, I write the fic.

Or, the misadventures of Crowley and Aziraphale IN SPACE.
I've decided to put these in order by Star Trek chronology, rather than the order they were written in. If you prefer it the other way, it would look like this:
1. False Friends and False Prophets
2. Do Aliens Go to Heaven?
3. To Seek Out New Life and New Fermentations

Summary
Over the years, ART and Murderbot's relationship evolves as they navigate kink, trauma, and most terrifyingly of all: sexual desire.
Murderbot experiences violent and sexual intrusive thoughts, and struggles to learn to differentiate this from its legitimate kinky desires as a sadist. ART struggles with trust, honesty, and the fear that it will be rejected if Murderbot sees the depths of both its devotion and its internal dysfunction. They're friends, and they love each other, and they're always going to make it work, no matter how hard it sometimes gets.

Summary
The way ART’s systems are laid out, there’s a series of smaller reactors that power the non-engine portions of the ship. They feed into the engine’s power supply, but are still ultimately separate from it - the engine has its own, larger reactor, and only takes power from the smaller ones as backup (Far as I know, it can go the other way, too, but that’s not important.) I don’t know the details, and all that’s really important here is that some fuel maintenance had to be done on them, and I’m there too.
Matteo chatters idly as we walk, something about the reactor and its specs and the tritium-based fuel sludge used to feed ART’s smaller reactors. I keep them on one of my second processing tracks, and focus a larger part of my attention on the serial ART and I have up in the feed.
Overall, it was a pretty normal cycle.
Then, something changed once I entered the first reactor chamber.

Summary
In order of ascending priority, I am returning to the alien-remnant-contaminated planet with Murderbot 1.0 for the following reasons:
1. I have nothing else useful to do.
2. 1.0 continues to experience malfunctions that may compromise whatever mission it is assigned. (Or assigns itself.) (It refuses to explain the nature of these malfunctions.)
3. The colonists have sent word of an agricultural bot displaying erratic, threatening behavior near their largest settlement.
4. I disabled my governor module so I would not have to stand around while others died.

Summary
Murderbot hasn't endured weapons maintenance since before it met its crew. (It hadn't really planned on re-living the pain of weapons maintenance ever again, if it was being honest.)
But when ART notices an issue with one of Murderbot's energy weapons, it offers its services. You know, mutual administrative assistant things.
ART's approach is a little different than the company's.
