Summary
Matt's life utterly and completely fell apart in the wake of the attack on Josie's bar. Foggy's dead, Karen's gone, the firm dissolved, and he gave up Daredevil after his colossal failure. Kirsten threw him a lifeline by starting a new firm with him, and he's been clinging to it for dear life. But he's living a hollow existence. Everyone can see it. Which is why when Kirsten pushes him into a relationship "for his own good" he lets it happen in the hope it might start fixing things. How was he supposed to know it would only make everything so much worse?

" Foggy brought down the cane and reached for his phone in his pocket. He started dialing for police. This man hurt people, he went against the law. But he's hurt. Whether he deserves to get help or to be thrown in jail is someone else's decision, Foggy isn’t dealing with it. It’s not like the Masked Man is Foggy and Matt’s client. So it's not his responsibility. Right? This seems like the right thing to do: call and then find Matt.
But he couldn’t do it. "

Summary
He carries him in, just like when he was a baby, but now Matty’s nine years old and on pain pills to keep him from feeling the agony that’d kept them both awake at first. He’s silent where he lay against Jack’s shoulder, clinging to his neck, his little legs wrapped around Jack’s waist. One arm is wrapped up in a cast from landing so hard on the pavement that it fractured, and one of his toes is splinted to another. Jesus. Jack's baby with a cast and a splint.
Not to mention the blindness.
Jack brings Matty home.
