Summary
Real Na’vi didn’t have eyebrows. They didn’t have five fingers, either. Lo’ak’s not the kind of kid who’d cry over something like that, but the thought is always there. Reminders continue to plague him every time he catches a glimpse of his reflection or uses his hands in any capacity. He’s different, and he hates it.
or
Lo’ak shaves his eyebrows and Jake has something to say about it.

Summary
Electricity ripples through his side, and pain explodes in his body. He collapses onto his stomach, shoulder slamming onto the harsh metal first. He doesn’t register the pain… because it’s nothing compared to the sight below him.
His eyes lock onto the water, seeing Neteyam sink below the water. The once clear blue colour quickly turns red, blocking his field of vision.
“Neteyam!” Lo’ak tries one last time, scrambling to get up but all he gets is the same rod being jammed into his side. He yells, the sound ripped out of him when electricity courses through his body. He’s roughly grabbed by his kuru again, pulling him up. Pain explodes in his brain, but all he can think about is his brother.
Or: Neteyam survives getting shot, but Lo'ak is captured by the RDA

Summary
"You know my brother, Tommy?" Jake smiled sorrowfully as a million blurry memories flashed in his head, "I don't talk about him much, but he meant the world to me."
Jake looked over to the hammocks in their marui, and envisioned his childhood bedroom. Bunk beds, for Tommy and him. Jake was on top, with Tommy on the bottom bunk. Their room was small, barely enough space for the two of them to move or do homework, but there were many happy memories created there. Some bad ones too, but when Jake was little, the only thing he wanted to do was to spend time with his brother.
"You and Neteyam remind me a lot of me and my brother," Jake paused, "except me and Tommy looked identical, and were the same age. Although, he was older by twelve minutes, and would forever tease me for it."
"Tell me more about him, dad." Lo'ak whispered.

OR: Jake and Lo'ak have a much-needed chat together after the battle. In order for the two to truly connect, Jake reveals the skeletons in his closet. (My take on Jake's backstory, from his early childhood and his teen years, up until him joining the marines and the accident.) <3

Summary
The thing is, when you always see someone being so wild, visceral and strong, you forget that in fact, they're not invincible. When a person hides their soul behind the loud commands and control, you forget about the feelings behind it. Alive and raw, unapologetically real and impossible to be mad at.
When it seems like everything has settled down, it's time for Jake to reveal and for Lo'ak to find.
