Summary
After getting physically assaulted during a climate protest, Xiao Xingchen returns home to Tian Shan, his guardian's house in the English countryside, to pick up the pieces. Unfortunately, it turns out the past he tried to escape is still there, too - namely his ex, Xue Yang, with whom he had an ill-fated relationship back when they were teenagers.
Song Lan moved from the city and everything he has lost to craft a new life in the area. He can focus on his hobby, showjumping, and try to ignore that his horse is owned by a rumoured gangster. He's also hooking up with Xue Yang from Carp Manor racing stable, but that is totally meaningless for both of them. Isn't it?
Xue Yang knows that what he's doing with Meng Yao isn't exactly legal. But what can you do? A man has got to make a living, which is hard enough with his past. Anyway, he's got it all under control. Until Xingchen reappears. Not only does he have a tendency to get involved in Xue Yang's business, but Song Lan is way too interested in him. Worse, his presence opens wounds Xue Yang had thought long healed...

Summary
In the wintry, magical kingdom of Tian Shan, criminal Xue Yang is captured by knight Song Lan and made a servant to prince Xiao Xingchen. Summary
Xue Yang is pretty sure he's concussed. He's definitely beat to hell. He stumbles into his boyfriends' apartment, but he forgot-- Xiao Xingchen is out of town. Only Song Lan is home.
Xue Yang is just the extra boyfriend. He can't ask Song Lan to take care of him like this.

Summary
What the hell are we doing, Song Lan signs frantically. He rubs his face then signs something that could either be ‘fuck me,’ or ‘we’re fucked,’ Xue Yang doesn’t know. His syntax has never been great and neither has his self-preservation instinct because the next thing that comes out of his mouth, half in anger and half as a desperate attempt to steer this conversation in literally any other direction, is this:
“You know you only have to ask if you wanna fuck, Song Lan.”
It’s a mistake. He knows. He knows. But Song Lan’s wide-eyed disbelief also fills him with an irrational sense of satisfaction and he has to push, he has to push it all the way, cocking his hips and looking up at Song Lan through his eyelashes and licking his lips in the dirtiest way he knows how: go big or go home, one of his foster mothers always said. Might as well dig himself all the way in and get comfortable.

Summary
“Don’t kill him, Xue Yang.”
Xue Yang’s grin blooms - don’t kill instead of don’t hurt. He can do that, it would be infinitely more fun that way too. After all, now that he thinks about it, dying is easy but withstanding Xue Yang’s hate was going to be a long arduous process for Xiao Xingchen.

Xiao Xingchen is captured and at the mercy of Xue Yang, who delights at this opportunity for revenge. He should have known that with Xiao Xingchen, nothing is ever that simple.
