Summary
He’s not close enough. He’s not going to make it. Even if he managed to shake off the soldiers in front of him and just threw his whole body at full-speed between Luffy and Akainu to take the blow, he wouldn’t get there fast enough. He doesn’t have enough time. He’s going to lose another brother, only this time it’s going to happen right in front of his eyes, from seven—five—three feet away.
He’s ten years old again and learning what grief is. He’s ten years old and all that’s left of Sabo is the letter in his hand and a shared dream and the promise that Ace will look after their silly baby brother while he’s gone.
“DON’T TOUCH HIM!” Ace screams. It’s pure desperation. It’s the last human thing he’ll ever say if Luffy dies here.

Summary
Luffy was right when he said that Ace lied about having no regrets. Ace had so many regrets. His spirit was restless. He wasn't ready to die.
When Sabo lay comatose he dreamed for three days. He remembered the life he'd forgotten. And he remembered a life that he'd never gotten to be a part of. When he woke up, Koala noticed right away that something was wrong. But it would take some time before she understood that it wasn't only Sabo who was there with her now.
Sabo promised that he wouldn't leave the Revolutionary army, but what will become of the three of them now that Ace is awake and alive in his heart, and more importantly, his body?

Summary
Portgas D. Ace died at Marineford, but instead of nothingness, he opened his eyes on Baterilla, months before his birth. Taking a new name, Portgas D. Stray, he finds the mother he never knew and a quiet home at the edge of the sea.
He tells her everything. And together, they wait for a future neither of them was meant to survive. Or a brief, shining moment where everything is right.
Summary added on 23/05/2025 - Ace 2.0 adopts his own brothers, seduces Marco and sets the timeline on fire. Good. (Or: My attempt at a time-travel fix-it where everybody lives, no one dies and Ace, now Stray, gets to rewrite fate with the family he never had.)

Summary
Ace woke up with three things - (1) his name, (2) a chest wound that should’ve killed him and (3) absolutely no idea how he got there. (Spoiler: Time travel. Also, he died. Oops.)
Now a (confused but oddly chill) Marine Lieutenant Commander, Ace lives by one rule: If you don’t question it, life’s simple.
That is, until he accidentally hijacks a pirate’s boat, mistaking its captain for a harmless fisherman. Turns out, the "fisherman" is Marco the Phoenix, the Whitebeard Pirates’ First Division Commander, Ace’s future… something (if only he remembered) and currently just some annoyingly hot stranger who keeps staring at Ace like he’s a puzzle.
(Or: Time travel erased Ace's memories, but not his terrible life choices. Marco expected many things today. A hot Marine crashing into his life (and boat) wasn't one of them.)
