Summary
Yugi's life had always been pretty normal. The only strange thing were his missing memories from his High School Years, but even that never really impacted his life too much. Well, there was his ability to perfectly read and understand hieroglyphic texts, and the fact that he never looked quite like himself on the old TV recordings of his duels. But even that was pretty normal compared to suddenly finding himself in the middle of a desert, before getting abducted by slave traders of some role playing community? At least, that was what he thought had happened until the whole situation suddenly seemed much too real. He could only hope the gamble he took in trusting that strangely familiar Yami person wouldn't land him in an even worse situation.
Or: Yugi suffers from severe separation trauma caused by Atem leaving after their ceremonial duel, making him forget all about his other self. Unrelated to that, he finds himself enslaved in Ancient Egypt, before he can even wrap his mind around his sudden displacement. But once again, Atem is there to protect and guide him.

There he was. Crouching behind the counter in tracksuit pants and a black tee, a bottle of pills upended around him, the tips of his ears and what Izuku could see of his face tomato-red and steaming. Baffled wasn’t a big enough word. Shocked wasn’t quite right, either. It was more the, what on earth? feeling you might get if a lion suddenly wandered into a grocery store. Izuku rubbed his eyes.
“Kacchan! It is you! What are you doing down there? Oh my goodness, are you stealing pills?!”

“I’ll be back before sunrise,” Katsuki promised. “You won’t even notice I’m gone. I’ll kiss you the second I’m back and we’ll go out. Pancakes. Syrup.
That weird fruit compote you like. The works.”“You promise?”
The question came out barely audible, like he was saying it more to the air than to Katsuki himself.
Katsuki leaned down and kissed the corner of his mouth, slow and lingering. “I promise, baby.”
Izuku’s lips curled faintly, but his hold didn’t loosen.
With another soft groan—more at the unfairness of having a clingy boyfriend and a damn sense of responsibility—Katsuki very gently, very reluctantly
peeled Izuku’s arms off his waist, kissing each hand as he moved them.“Brute,” Izuku mumbled.
Katsuki laughed under his breath. “You’ll thank me when I bring back mochi pancakes.”
“You’re still a brute.”
---------------or Katsuki has to get up in the middle of the night to deal with a vilian attack and Izuku's grumpy, a few weeks later and the tables have turned.

“Kacchan, you’re being a brat,” Izuku says, glaring at him.
“I thought you could handle a brat or two, Sensei. You mad?”
Izuku jolts at the drawl in his voice when Katsuki calls him "Sensei" this time and turns his back to him. He crosses his arms and huffs, trying to hide his reaction to the pleasant surprise with a pout. Katsuki moves next to Izuku and imitates his crossed arms. He bends a little to get in Izuku's peripheral, and when Izuku notices him, he hopes his blush isn’t still visible. Katsuki snickers.
“You getting off on riling me up?” Deku tilts towards him.
Katsuki straightens up. “Ooo! What’re you gonna do, spank me?”

“This really isn’t how you treat a guest, Kaiba.”
Again, the big man’s eyebrow twitches. It’s more pronounced this time, and though he does not smile, there is a soft lilt of amusement under his next words. The gravelly growl of his regular cadence is softened.
“I’m sure you can imagine that I’ve had to pretend my way through quite a lot of for-show outings and gatherings with business partners.”
This wasn’t as common an occurrence these days. Smaller conglomerates seeking one of KaibaCorp’s immense mounds of treasure in ample funding might call its draconian CEO to a fancy restaurant with steaks more expensive than a month of some homes’ rent, but it doesn’t entice him. It’s always just a performance.
“This is real. My first time sitting across from someone I actually want to know.”
Yugi would be lying through his teeth if he said the scope of it wasn’t mind blowing. Perhaps it’s not that big of a deal to someone who has the money to essentially lord over all of Domino.
All of this. Because he wants to know me.

“Un-fucking-believable.” Kacchan snapped, cutting him off as he sucked on his teeth. “You,” the omega pressed, lifting his hand back up before jabbing a finger into the center of his chest, “are fucking unbelievable. You hear me, Deku?”
He winced with each harsh poke to his sternum, and clenched his own teeth.
“I’m sorry,” he wheezed out, voice tight and choked-up as he tried to keep himself from huffing on the omega’s scent. “I didn’t… I didn’t know that the expedition would take us years…”
It was a flimsy excuse and he knew that Kacchan saw right through it.
His pointed scoff was enough proof.
OR: Alpha warrior Izuku Midoriya returns to his pack after a three year long expedition with only one thought on his mind: to make the omega he had imprinted on as a pup his mate. When he realizes Kacchan is nowhere to be found upon his arrival, he goes out of his way to seek him out and fulfill his promise. Kacchan isn't enthused--but when he ends up diving head first into Heat Sickness, they both have a revelation.
