Summary
“Caitlyn dear, Vi is here!” Tobias called. Caitlyn felt her nerves rise and took a deep breath to steady herself.
“Coming!” She called before leaving her room, grabbing the aforementioned flannel and her purse on the way out.
Vi was standing just inside the door with hands shoved into the pockets of her jeans. She was wearing a flannel with the sleeves cut off with a rather nice white t-shirt beneath it. By Vi standards this was dressing up and Caitlyn was touched.
“Well, you look handsome.” Caitlyn smiled. A faint blush rose on Vi’s cheeks as she shuffled her feet.
“You look nice too. But you always look nice.” Vi smiled that crooked grin that Caitlyn had always loved. A memory rose in her mind unbidden, of sitting on Vi’s bed and feeling butterflies in her stomach as Vi flashed that grin at her while she played some song Caitlyn had long since forgotten the name of. It brought a blush to Caitlyn’s own cheeks.
