Maybe his mom's right, though he's quite content with his habit of just. Not telling anyone about how much he's sleeping these days and hoping that it doesn't show. He goes to pick up the paper; the time on the clock's still 2:01.

Summary
Girls' Night. Fun sounding enough. Conveys the party life that Kristen's all about. Has nothing to do with Helio or the Harvestmen, and connotes spending time with Fig and Adaine. Great.
But also-
It's the same sort of sick feeling that Kristen used to get on Sundays, in sermons when mom would force the kids into all the various church-appropriate wear - Bricker, Cork and Bucky always got the better end of the stick, Kristen thought, being shoved into any dress in the most obnoxious shade of yellow that had to be bore because if Kristen couldn't handle this, handling the weight of other sins as a full-blown chosen of Helio would be even worse. So the dress stayed on until three in the afternoon, when it would be back to tie-dye shirts and sandals because those were just easier.

Fig holds a hand to her chest like she’s personally affronted at the thought as Ayda simply responds, “The climate in Leviathan is too warm most of the time — and when the weather is colder, it tends to storm instead. Of course, I know what snow is, in concept, but — the stars have never aligned that way.”

Good Face also has, upon further inspection, a goose in his lap. Curt hadn’t initially recognised it because of, first of all, Good Face’s very good face, and secondly because she isn’t doing what Curt’s goose is doing. She’s curled up happily in Good Face’s lap, head tucked beneath her wing, so that the overall effect is that of a puddle of feathers and down rather than an animal. At the distinctive sound of Curt’s terrible goose waddling over Cynthia’s polished hardwood flooring, she lifts her head out from under her wing, blinks big dark eyes once, and then retreats back to rest, shuffling gently to resettle herself. A model of serenity. She reminds Curt of a children’s book illustration of a goose more than anything else, what with the angelic white feathers and the perfectly orange beak. Good Face smiles gently down at her, stroking over her wing.
“What the fuck,” Curt says, betrayed and directing the question to Cynthia for reasons he doesn’t quite understand, “Why does he get a nice goose?”
Curt’s goose honks, offended, and bites his leg twice in quick succession.-
It is a lovely day in the American Secret Service headquarters, and there is a horrible goose on the scene.
