He scoffs and begins to climb to his feet. “I’m fucking fine, so why don’t you just-”
The world turns upside down as he begins to stumble. Only a strong hand around his elbow keeps him from tumbling right into the water. She somehow stands while keeping hold of him and sighs, her cigarette still hanging from her lips. “I’m going to take you home. Not because I’m helping you. But because I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I just left you here.” She pulls him next to her, draping his arm over her shoulder. “This is a completely selfish action, so be a good boy and don’t bitch about it the whole walk back to the ranch.”

A grin pulls at Cinder’s lips. “You know, as I was looking through my trunk, I found something interesting.”
“What? Did one of the kids put something in there? The last time Frittz put a toad in my bag-”
Stepping fully between Shadowheart’s thighs, Cinder presses her body flush with her torso. The foreign hardness tucked up in Cinder’s trousers presses into her stomach and Shadowheart gasps. “Sorry, but if you had wanted me to find a frog in my trunk, you’ll be disappointed.”
A pink flush instant blooms from the tips of her ears down to her collarbones. “Oh, I doubt that I’ll be disappointed.”

While moving into their new room at Moonrise Towers, Cinder finds the velvet bag containing Shadowheart's favorite sex toy. She decides that having a room with a lock is the perfect time to indulge. Halsin can't help but join in, of course.

Wanting to clean off her armor quickly, Cinder splashes around in cold water and needs some help warming up. Fortunately for her, both Shadowheart and Halsin are happy to bring the heat.

She tilts her head back, pressing a gentle kiss to his jaw. “Distract me, then,” she murmurs. Her fingers wrap around his wrist and move his hand from her torso to the heat between her legs. “Override the pain with something more pleasurable.”

Returning to the previously Shadow-Cursed Lands causes Shadowheart both mental and physical pain, so she asks Cinder and Halsin to distract her. They both enthusiastically agree.

Shadowheart ties a scarf around her eyes as Halsin binds her wrists loosely behind her back. “I’m not opposed to this, but is there a reason to tie me up?” she asks with a chuckle.
“This way you’ll be fully at our mercy,” Halsin says quietly near her ear, making Cinder gasp. “I’ve been waiting for this day for many reasons. I plan to fully enjoy you, as does Shadowheart. As long as that’s what you want as well, my heart.”

Shadowheart and Halsin kidnap their overworked lover and force her to relax in the most pleasurable way possible, finding that perhaps their two separate partnerships would be better as one wonderfully tangled relationship.

The vampire spawn is stunned into silence. Looking around, he realizes that he knows this area - it’s where he fell from the nautiloid and somehow landed without breaking every bone in his body. He’s wearing the same clothes, the same shoes, the same cheap dagger in his hand. “This isn’t happening.”
“It is.”
“You’re telling me that I’ve gone back in time nearly half a year?!”
“Yes.”
