Summary
Charlie fucked up. She knows this, and she wishes she could take the words back- undo the hurt that had been written so plainly on her Dad's face. Maybe later, she'd allow herself to think about the way Lucifer had simply stood there and taken her vitriol. For now, Charlie will focus on making things right between them.
If only her Dad would let her apologise, rather than running at the first sign of her remorse.
(If only Lucifer wouldn't be so insistent that he deserved that kind of treatment.)

Summary
Lucifer's day started like many others, breakfast with his young daughter, Charlie, and his wife, Lilith. Something he had done countless times with his family. Though this time, something feels off, and it's not anything in the pancakes. Voices are echoing in his mind, things that make no sense. Why did his daughter sound so angry with him? Why couldn't he shake the feeling that she didn't want him around anymore? She was right here in front of him, a beaming six-year-old whose father was her whole world.
Lilith seems to know something he doesn't, but he can't pinpoint what. Something is wrong and Lucifer isn't quite sure he's ready to face the root of his troubles. Though as time goes on, he may have no choice.

Behind him, silk rustled.
Lilith Morningstar reclined on a velvet chaise near the open doors, posture elegant despite the unmistakable curve of her stomach. Her crown rested on a nearby table—removed not out of weakness, but comfort. One hand rested over her abdomen, thumb tracing slow, absent patterns, grounding herself.
“She’s not ‘taking her time,’” Lilith said calmly. “She’s arriving exactly when she intends to.”
Lucifer turned, pointing at her with sudden intensity. “You don’t know that. Babies are unpredictable. I read three books. Well—skimmed. Fine, I looked at the diagrams.”

Summary
Things haven't been... good. Since the whole ordeal with the T.V. dude and all of Lucifer's many mistakes. He's trying his best to just coast through the background while Charlie gets into the rhythm of the new energy of the hotel but with the holidays coming up he's worried he's just gonna bring Charlie down even more. Being on his own, however, leaves his mind wandering and vulnerable to all the other shadows that make up his existence down in the pits of Hell.
Nothing a little Sinsmas decorating can't fix, right? It's not like he has any other ideas and the walls of the Morningstar palace are starting to feel suffocating again.
