  Summary

  To me, the world had decreased into a single opening between the bandages. Painkillers flooded me every day, keeping my mind neutered and body numb from the pain which coursed through every inch of my body; even then, it was never enough to dull it fully. I felt like I was on fire again, sometimes, and I would scream with my ruined vocal cords until the doctors came again and cold turkey me until I was back in my memories. And even then, there was no respite.
