Summary
The smell of the ocean taunted them, but they couldn’t hear the waves nor taste the salt.
Trees everywhere. Mostly pine trees. Their dry needles crunched underneath the twins’ boots as they walked down the rocky path.
Rising high above their heads, rocks aligned the cliff side, even more trees behind those. They’ve been swallowed by the Oregonian landscape.
A twig snapped above them.
David and Brenda instinctively grasped each other’s hands for reassurance as their eyes turned towards the noise. Brenda picked up a pebble with her free hand and threw it in the direction they heard the snap.
A yowl echoed in the rocks and the twins started running.
or: Jackson's Diary Coraline AU, where Brenda and David take the place of Coraline, and Exer is Wybie, etc. Most of the dialogue is directly from the movie, but hopefully there will be parts that are more like the book (iykyk).

Summary
The first thing Jackson remembers is Colombia.
He remembers his distant family, his mother and father, and their old home.
He remembers his mother giving him the diary, and her falling ill. And his grandmother leaving, too.
He wishes he didn't.
Then he meets Carol and Frank and Elijah, people who promise to stay. Or at least give him a chance to say goodbye.

Summary
Jackson's "clone", nicknamed Nightmare Jackson, gets an eerie feeling one day after Jackson comes home from school. What they don't expect is a whole snowball of events, all starting with finding Exer in the woods. Except his hair's shorter and less fluffy, and what's he even talking about? It doesn't seem any bit familiar to Jackson. With the help of some friends along the way, the trio tries to find how to make things "normal" again But what if some feelings sprout along the way, and "normal" is no longer the end goal?
If you know the tumblr lore, congrats! This will be way funnier to you.
