|| He's not sure how long his head has been in his arms for, but Peter's head almost seems to snap up as the words 'field trip' and 'Stark Institute' fall from Mr. Harrington's lips.
No. No. He can't be serious, right? Tony would've told him sooner if his school were going on a field trip to what was practically his second home… Right?
Of course, as a piece of paper embellished with the Stark Institute logo drops onto the table in front of him, his hopes are all but shattered.
OR: We all love a good Field Trip fic. And I wanted to try my hand at writing one. So I threw all my favourite trope and characters into a blender and here we are.

In the aftermath of Peter's torture and the reveal of his superhero identity to the rest of the Avengers, our friendly neighborhood teenager grapples with a deeply impacted sense of self. Thankfully, he has Tony and the rest of the team by his side every step of the way.
“So this is the kid.” Clint shot Tony a flinty, uncertain look as Peter gave the gathered Avengers a nervous smile, the boy wringing the soft material of his mask in his hands. The kid we saw tortured went unspoken. As did the kid who you dragged to Germany, the kid we fought against, the kid we could have hurt or killed without ever knowing.

She sighed, gaze distant as she thought over the pros and cons of telling him the truth. Finally, she nodded and spoke up again. “We had a hit in the system. A missing person case.”
All Peter wanted to do was help. He didn't expect to discover that his entire life was a lie.
So much for returning home before dinner.

At this point, he’s wailing. Heartbreaking, gutwrenching cries.
Everyone suddenly understands so much about Peter Parker.
OR:
Post-Blip, Peter’s PTSD is triggered and he ends up revealing his identity to his Decathlon team, two of his teachers, and an entire cafeteria full of Stark Industries employees. Peter didn't think that the field trip could get any worse after he'd been mocked, targeted, and reprimanded, but of course, Parker Luck would never let him rest.
