“What brings you here, anyway, then?” He asks, “I don't suppose you're just dropping by. Has Valentine sent you?”
“Yes, but not to you. Unrelated business,” Dio answers like it is the most boring thing he'd ever said, “some tyrant in the finance district wanted to meet with the President, but supposedly he wasn't available, so I was sent on his behalf.”
At least Valentine thinks of him as intelligent enough to handle the many sharks of Wall Street. He takes that as a compliment to himself. Though he can't help the smirk that finds itself on his face. “Not dressed like that, I hope?”
Scoff. “Obviously. The meeting is in the morning.”
Diego lets out an ‘mm’ of acknowledgement. “You don’t sound very enthusiastic, either way.”
“Should I be?”
“Well,” he shrugs, “you could try. Americans aren’t really receptive to blunt, dry foreigners.”
“Suppose you’d know all about that.”

tiny and small, signs of the beginnings of the flower illness. The flower petal colors were rich, vibrant and bright. He wondered, briefly, what flower that it was. What beautiful flower was it that such an ugly curse deemed to befit who he loved?
The yellow petal was small, narrow and long. He could not name a flower that it would belong to, none, but Argenti was sure that it would be beautiful.

Summary
Kaveh used to think that Alhaitham had mastered the art of ignoring him. The man would remain unflappable as he continued to read his worn copy of The Origins of Enkanomiyan Language, even when Kaveh was a hair’s breadth away from shattering the windows of their house with his severity of pitch.
No amount of screaming, threats to throw things, or violently waving in front of him could get Alhaitham to pause in his thirst for knowledge. As it turns out, Alhaitham literally just turns his hearing aids off so he doesn’t have to listen to Kaveh.
It’s for this exact reason that Kaveh has decided to learn Sumerian Sign Language.
