    Summary

Buck would rather stab himself in the neck with a fork, thrice, than let Maddie and Eddie say a single word to each other.

His concern is that they will become friends. Allies. Allies United Against Buck. Comrades Who Know Too Much About Buck. A terrifying, powerful joint force that simply cannot ever exist.

He will make sure of it.

Or, so that Maddie and Eddie do not ever mingle, Buck meddles.

    Summary

"He shifts slightly, cheek dragging across fabric that smells clean and familiar. Detergent, sure, but underneath it something warmer. Soap and skin, something cedar and citrus, maybe a hint of something acidic. Coffee? He curls into it further, like he can inhale it into the very core of himself. The scent hits his chest first, loosening something there before his mind is awake enough to ask why it matters. Why that scent feels familiar..."

Or, Buck wakes up to something a little bit more than he expected in his best friend's bed.

    Summary

“So,” Buck says, head spinning. He’s really feeling the alcohol now. They definitely should have eaten something before drinking. “No women.”

Eddie fumbles as he sets the bottle down on his bedside table. “No women.”

“What about men?” Buck blurts, which is—crazy, because again: neither of them are gay.

They’re just two straight guys. Two straight guys in Eddie’s bed, tipsy, and—and Eddie doesn’t want to sleep with women. Which means nothing.

Beside him, Eddie goes preternaturally still. “I would know, if I—you know.”

“Okay.” Buck’s hands twitch at his sides. “I—yeah. Me too.”

Then, very seriously, Eddie turns to look at him. “If I were gay, you would be my first call.”

Warmth blooms in Buck’s chest. Eddie’s so nice to him. “Dude,” he says, touched. “You’d be my first call too.”

Or: a story set in season 2 featuring tequila, Just The Tip, and, finally, a kiss.

    Summary

Eddie’s eyes are dark, his pupils huge. His mouth drops open a little as Buck comes closer; his chest rises with deeper breaths. He slumps lower, extending an arm out towards Buck, beckoning him.

“You’ve been staring,” Eddie says. He’s not accusing. Christ he’s beautiful.

“I’ve been staring,” Buck agrees. What’s the point in lying now? He slides off the couch and onto his knees on the floor between Eddie’s spread legs.

Eddie inhales sharply, making room for Buck’s body. “I’ve been trying to give you space.”

    Buck frowns. “Me?”

Or the one where Buck’s decision-making goes from bad to worse and it inevitably blows up in his face.
