Chaeryeong can’t help the furrow in her eyebrows when Ryujin asks it like that. Like she wants Chaeryeong to open up when she’s closed shut herself. They’ve spent a lot of their youth in moving cars and waiting rooms and with each other, and the haziness of what’s supposed to be the most beautiful time of their lives has changed them, for better or for worse. Ryujin, the most of them all. All those years of Chaeryeong trying to come out of her shell only to have Ryujin grow one herself.
Chaeryeong figures some things out at the ripe old age of twenty-three.
