“Sure, alright,” Eddie agreed. His expression softened, and he rolled his shoulders back, opening up. “I’ll watch your little sheepies for you.”
“Really?” Steve grinned, “Man, that’s awesome. Thank you so much—”
“I just gotta ask one thing,” Eddie interrupted, leaning over the table and closer to Steve.
“Yeah, man,” he said, voice tight. “Anything.”
“Why’d you leave me down there, Steve?”

18 months after the earthquake, Steve starts having bad dreams. Which wouldn’t mean anything if it weren’t for the nosebleeds and the headaches. Hearing that clock can’t be great. Then Will feels Vecna getting close, and Steve thinks it might be best for him to sacrifice himself. He’s nice like that.
