Douma smiles at you, something darkly mischievous in his eyes. “It’ll be fun! Acting like a couple.”
“And again, I said no.” You stomp off, ready to leave this conversation behind.
“I’ll give you money as payment.” His voice floats softly through the air, the sound as enticing as the words themselves.
You could use the extra money. You swivel back around, the wind swirling through your hair, howling in the background.
“Deal.” Doumas grin widens at your words.
In the back of your mind, as you walk off into the oncoming storm, you wonder- What have I gotten myself into?
