“Lomedy,” Flame gasps, gathering him up in his arms and then feeling his heart drop at how limp and lifeless and cold his best friend is. Glassy golden eyes shift slightly to land on him and that transforms the situation from incomprehensible, impossible agony to simply very very bad.
“Whuh…?” Lomedy mutters. What a beautiful, awful sound. What a stupid thing for him to say. First thing in months; first thing in fifteen, twenty battles of this traitor standing at Lettuce’s side in white-and-gold like a fucking trophy, dead silent except for his blank, mindless stare—and he gets "whuh."

“You got your sword?” Lomedy asks.
Flame lifts Fragger up for Lomedy to see. Its edge is sharp, serrated; long as the length of his arm and so darkly red that it’s almost black. It’s a fighter’s weapon. “I thought I wasn’t allowed to kill.”
“You’re not.” Lomedy hums. He looks Fragger over once, then nods. “Yeah, I think that’ll be good for splitting the bamboo.”

“Mapicc, Mapicc, May-may-may-picc!”
“Whaaaaaaat?” murmurs a slump of black-and-red hoodie in the corner, which would resolve, eventually, if pestered enough, into his good friend–maybe even best friend–Mapicc.
“I’m bored,” Spoke sighs.

“That’s the wrong book,” Eggchan hisses, directly in his face.
“You’re the wrong book!” Wemmbu says back, at a normal volume, in a nonchalant way, quickly raising his most nonchalant mace.

His friend is nearly unrecognizable; battered and bloodied and in prison oranges but standing there, still, painfully alive. This, however, is impossible, because Flame vividly recalls being told that an accomplice of FlameFrags was executed in Law prison.

“You’re silly,” says the stranger, which Egg takes to mean no— welcome to hostage-town, angel boy.
When the world resolves itself into discernible shapes and colors, the first thing Egg clocks is a dark-haired boy in a straw-hat silhouetted against the noon-day sun.
"Hey, hey, Mister Eye-man," the straw hat kid asks. "Do you poop?"

“Flame! You- There’s a family in there. Dude. The spider has babies on its back. You have to go kill them all. Like now.”
Lomedy is literally shaking, eyes wide and lips quivering as he stares up at Flame pleadingly. “No, bro! Go fight your own battles. It’s literally your turn to clean the barn. You go do it! It’s just a few spiders.” Flame ignores the fact that he would’ve been just as terrified if he saw those eight legged creatures. Lomedy was not going to make him take care of that spiderweb at all.
“I’ll give you headpats, bro!”
And.. now Flame is listening.
or, Forgiveness to Flame looks a whole lot like living on a farm with Lomedy. Changing isn't a simple thing, but when you're not alone, it's sure as hell easier.

Parrot slowly opened his eyes, not seeing the person next to him. He focused all his sight onto the ceiling, because looking at anything else would probably make him throw up.
“‘fies?” He mumbled.
The person next to him seemed to still for a moment, pausing whatever they were doing to look over at Parrot.
“What?” They asked.
He blinked again, his eyelids drooping so low he could barely see. “Wif’es,” He slurred, “Th’nk you. For takin’ care ‘f me.”
Or, Parrot getting sick and hallucinating Wifies taking care of him instead of Theo.
