Azumane Asahi is an anxious person. He knows this, and he’s made his peace with the fact. He'd almost made his peace with his crush on Nishinoya, too. He still tended to get flustered around Noya occasionally, and tried to avoid being there when he changed after practice, but he got used to watching him quietly. During practice, break, lunch, the weekends sometimes; he’d gotten used to admiring Noya in comfortable silence, smiling at him and being with him like he always had.
He’d gotten very comfortable with wanting and not having. He wasn't counting on Noya shattering his comfortable bubble and pushing their friendship into unknown teritory.

Shaun had walked past Renaissance plenty of times. He’d never really taken much notice of the place, with its discreet black front and the simple white lettering proclaiming the relatively innocuous name. Maybe he’d snuck a few passing glances in the window while fervently looking around to make sure no one saw him. Maybe he’d thought about going in. Maybe just for a look. But he was never going to actually do it.
Renaissance was a sex shop. That much was obvious just from looking at it. Shaun did not have a problem with sex shops, or their wares, and he did not consider himself a prude. He just hadn’t ever had the desire to be inside of one.
Desmond had been working at Renaissance for a few years. It had taken some time, but he’d settled in, even learned to like it. His job had never been particularly important to him, until he met a very uncomfortable looking man in need of some sales assistance.

Summary
They've been partners for over a year. Kotetsu should know by now that he can't keep things from Barnaby. It's not hard to tell when his partner's having a bad day. Kotetsu is different when he's depressed. He still smiles brightly, and if anything he laughs harder than usual - almost as if he's got something to prove - but there's a weariness about him.
They'll have to talk about it sooner or later, Barnaby knows. Accidental property damage is one thing, but the most terrifying of Kotetsu's tells is recklessness. He's always reckless, but not like this. On bad days it's dropping ten stories before shooting a wire, throwing himself in front of machine guns, charging head first into danger, damn the consequences, damn the pain, damn everything.
It scares him. He knows it’s only so long before his partner seriously injures himself. He could lose Kotetsu, and it’s a sickening, sobering thought.
Kotetsu thinks he's good at hiding things, but Barnaby has come to know his tells. After a particularly bad night, things come to a head.

Clark heard it just as he stepped out the front entrance of The Daily Planet’s building. The sun had already set, a chilly autumn breeze dragging through his coat. It had been a late evening for him, catching up on drafts for his next few articles before some other emergency stole his attention from his work.
“Kal-el.”
He straightened, perking towards Gotham. Something cold gripped his heart as he listened for that familiar heartbeat. The voice was unmistakable; low, rough, and steady, one that grounded Clark almost as quick as Ma’s. In battle, hearing it usually meant there was a plan, that Clark could worry a little less about details; because the man he trusted the most – with his life and the lives of his family – had it under control. It soothed Clark when he faltered, bolstered him when his strength wavered, and steadied him when he teetered on the edge of sensory madness.
And that voice sounded afraid.
Clark was suited up and hurtling through the air towards Gotham before Bruce whispered again.
“Kal–” came his quiet gasp. “I’m sorry.”

Bruce tries to help Clark figure out the cause and how to handle it, that grows difficult when both men start thinking as far as allergic reactions go, this one doesn't seem so bad.
