“What?” Homelander questioned, furrowing his brow as he ended the kiss. “What’s wrong with you?”
Deep sighed and moved a hand to rub over the nape of his neck. “Y-yeah, uh, like I was trying to say… it’s just, I mean—it’s not you, I'm just not reallyyy… in the mood is-is all…”
“Huh?” Homelander’s confusion deepend at the statement. Not in the mood? “You mean you don’t want to fuck me? Me?”
“L-like I said, it's not you! It’s… It’s Cassandra,” Deep mumbled.
“Cassandra,” Homelander sneered. Deep rarely brought up his wife around him, he knew better. “What the hell does she have to do with anything?”

Summary
Cloud shuffles down the hallway on socked feet, ears pricked for noise. It's quiet in the house. And, as always, perfectly clean and orderly. He checks the small home gym first, and then the room Sephiroth uses for his art projects. This is the only room that has a bit of disorder, crayons strewn across the table, an unfinished drawing and an unfinished mug of tea left behind.
Bad sign.
Cloud walks back to the kitchen, past the unoccupied bathroom and guest room. He fills a glass with water at the sink, takes a couple sips, and then carries it into the master bedroom.
The windows are ajar and the gentle spring breeze is playing with the sheer, floor-length curtains. The bed is made, pillows and blankets arranged just so. Cloud crouches down and ducks his head to check the space under the elevated bedframe.
“Seph?”
From the shadows underneath the bed, two glowing green eyes look up at him, pupils dilated with distress.
