    He frowned, but there was no recourse. They would bicker and she would watch him, and he did not feel much better. There were illnesses that hid in the body. He could not leave her, a new mother and in charge of an estate on their son’s behalf.

    “The doctor will find nothing,” Colin called as she left the room.

    “Perhaps in your head he will have to search for your brain, but it rolls to the right spot eventually.”

He was pleased to show off how much he loved her, cherished her. That was until it all ended one night with four words that still haunted him in his nightmares.

    “We want different things.”

    Or Colin and Penelope break up because of a misunderstanding and they try to deal with the aftermath.
