Summary
News travels fast in the ED, but never so fast as when there's an emergency. Jack is stepping out of a trauma bay when one of the nurses jogs by with a quickly spat, "Armed patient in the vestibule."
Being in the military doesn't put someone above regular PTSD, and somehow Jack still finds himself surprised by his stomach dropping at the phrase. They'd gotten by mostly unscathed after the last one, but the more chances you have to be scathed, the higher the odds of it become. He takes off at a jog to get to central and prays to fucking god that it's already handled, or on it's way to it. His only comfort is that none of the nurses seem nearly as panicked as they would be if it was another gun-toting maniac.

“James,” Steve says, his voice low and warning, though it comes out softer than he intends.
James tilts his head, smirking. “Relax. You should be used to this by now. Don’t you and your Bucky do this all the time?”
