“A-Cheng. Where is your brother?”
Jiang Cheng leaned closer and, through gritted teeth, whispered, “Out, ba.”
The emperor blinked, a complicated expression washing over his face before it settled into a forced smile as he turned back to his guests. Lan Wangji chanced a glance at the empress, just to see the fire burning in her displeased eyes. Unlike the emperor, she did not try to hide it.
The emperor exhaled a chuckle before he said, “Apologies, old friend. It seems I will have to ask you for one more favor.”
“Do not worry, your highness,” Lan Qiren said. “I will have my nephew, Wangji, bring your son home safely immediately.”
“Even if you have to drag him back crying and screaming,” the empress said, words spat out with unrestrained anger, “you get that boy home immediately.”
After Wen Ruohan makes a direct threat against the emperor, the knights of Gusu Lan are summoned to bring the princes and princess to safety at Lotus Pier. They manage to make it to their destination without a scratch, but it does not take long before trouble finds them anyway—and Lan Wangji must make a choice.

On the wooden bridge curving over the frozen river sat a man—a fox.
His tail swayed quietly over the railing, his feet propped up on the support beam in the middle and his fingers elegantly running along the length of a black flute that was held to his puckered lips. His eyes were closed, but his dark ears atop his head flickered toward him as Lan Wangji came to a stop only meters away to stare.
And stare and stare and stare, through his sleep-muddled mind.
Lan Wangji had to still be dreaming.
There was no other reason for Wei Wuxian to be here, in the middle of winter.
In the middle of winter, Lan Wangji wakes from his restless slumber to the sound of a flute.

Summary
“And last but not least, this is our beloved community center.”
Lan Wangji took his gaze off Wei Ying to look at the building.
It looked quite weatherworn, dilapidated—a little worse for wear. It was not in complete ruins or falling apart quite yet, though it was closer to being so than any other building they had passed by. It was clearly well loved, well used, but time and the mountain conditions had worn it down, its foundation likely not built right.
The building was in dire need of a touch up and perhaps a renovation... or three.
A Stardew Valley inspired AU, in which Lan Wangji inherits his mother’s old home, but it takes years for him to return to it—and he only does when he is forced to. Yet, despite the many years without care, it looks the same. Unchanged, as if someone has been taking care of it after all.

Summary
The man was lying against a tree trunk with one leg bent and the other crossed over, his arms behind his head, hands acting as a pillow. A straw hat rested on his face though there was little sun left to shade from and only his identity was shaded. The man was still—asleep, perhaps. But even as Lan Wangji approached after dismounting Bichen and leaving her on the other side of the unmoving donkey, his footsteps deliberately noisy against the gravel trail, the man did not stir.
It was only when Lan Wangji was mere steps away that the man spoke.
“I’m not asleep,” he said, and Lan Wangji froze.
He knew that voice.
A reunion, 13 years in the making.

Summary
Wei Wuxian knew perfectly well what it looked like to other people when he draped himself all over Lan Zhan, wore the other man's sweaters, and ate his handmade lunches. He knew what the stares and whispers that followed them meant when he took Lan Zhan's hand or loudly said 'I'll see you at home' when Lan Zhan came to see him at work.
Just... Lan Zhan didn't. At least, he certainly never acted like he noticed and Wei Wuxian hoped it stayed that way. As long as Lan Zhan didn't notice, he'd let Wei Wuxian keep clinging to him, would let him take his hand and steal his clothes.
