Summary
There’s a sudden crash on the other end, like Dean has dropped his phone. Meanwhile, the waiter arrives with Castiel’s breakfast, giving him an encouraging thumbs-up. He returns the gesture with as much gusto as he can, but ignores the dish she lays on the table.
“Dean?” He sips on his orange juice and waits.
“Yeah, I’m here. Mind running that by me again?”
“The gates have been sealed,” Castiel says for the second time. “I’m in Colorado.” He takes another sip of juice. “And human.”
“Wanna go into detail about that last one?”
“No.”
Dean sighs. “Yeah, I figured.”
---
The trials were successful, but now Castiel is human and stranded in Colorado. Dean is across the country waiting for Sam to wake up, so he connects Cas with a friend who moonlights as a knight in shining armor.
(or: Cas falls and has a place to land.)

Summary
Tim's about to stand when another backfire of luck rings out: the almost-silent crunch of boots on a gravel rooftop. He whips his head up to see red, yellow, and green, and at once, he's both relieved and terrified.
Robin adapts to the situation of a crying kid immediately, dropping into a crouch so he isn't towering.
“Whoa, sorry,” he says, voice gentle. Tim is surprised he can hear him at all over the blood rushing in his ears. “That wasn’t supposed to scare you so bad. Still gettin’ used to the new boots, I guess.”
---
In which Tim is allowed to be a mess, and for someone wearing the colors of a traffic light, Robin is very good at hiding. They help each other.
