The doctor softens his voice. He rarely does this. And never for a child. But as his mentor once said, every adjustment is necessary in pursuit of a perfect experiment.
“I don’t think this is bad,” he hums. “I believe it to be a rather, charming hobby.”
The effect is immediate.
Quinn’s face brightens so suddenly that it is almost startling. Sunlight blooming bright through stormy skies.
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of,” the doctor continues, unperturbed. “You’re simply playing with toys the way they were meant to be played with.”
The boy brushes hair from his eyes and, shyly, places a hand atop the doctor’s.
Hook, line, and sinker.
“You’re an okay doctor,”
He grins. “You think so?”
OR: An interpretation of a softer ending for the one and only cold hearted megalomaniac Doctor Harley Sawyer and his agonisingly oblivious boy.

Summary
After the theater incident with Boxy Boo, Harley knew something stank and it wasn't just a leak of red smoke or a stray piece of rotten viscera on his shoe. No, it stank of a conniving rat and a precursor of ever closing walls. Hours, days... he knew his time was snipping shorter yet shorter. Especially with Leith's sharper tongue in recent months.
His time at Playtime Co was reaching an end again. He knew it. He knew it was a matter of time before the scales tipped too far and he'd become just another annal in the company's incident reports. He knew, for Quinn's sake, he needed someone trustworthy to watch after him.
______Or, TLDR; Harley's paranoia and walls are up. Preston comes to his office for a meeting and ends up becoming closer to the bane of the labs than he'd ever predict. Harley has an odd request.

"LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.txt.vbs" was one of the most destructive computer worms ever to have been released onto the internet. It was able to rapidly proliferate by hijacking its victims' email programs, sending copies of itself to everyone in their address books, concealed inside spam emails.
In other words, Spamton's come down with an intestinal parasite, and he doesn't appreciate its opinions on his love life.

Why had Kris opened up this Dark World, anyway? It’d been so long since they’d so much as plugged Tenna in, let alone wanted to play with him as a precious friend and toy. Was it their new friend, Susie? If so, Tenna really had to thank her for re-awakening that childlike wonder. Why, in that case, he owed Susie his life as much as he owed Kris! What a remarkable pair they made, huh? Oh, Asriel and Noelle and Dess would be so excited to have someone new into the group! What sort of programs would she like, anyway? Monster movies, of course, but what else? Action movies? Music videos? Cowboys?
Ooh, his circuits hummed just thinking about it! He glowed brighter, rubbing his gloves together.
“So! What’s on the guide for today, Krismas? I have so many new ideas to show. I know it’s late, but we can fit in one gameshow episode, surely! Do you remember when you--”
“Shut up.”
Tenna froze.
(Before TV World starts, Kris has to have a talk with a certain TV and set up some ground rules. Tenna is not a fan of dealmakers and scams these days, and refuses. Unfortunately, Kris is prepared to exploit that.)
