Summary
Yuuta wasn't sure if the shared experience of killing curses for a living had anything to do with it, but getting to know Inumaki was a lot easier since then. It also helped him to understand that, ever since his first days at Jujutsu High, Inumaki had only been trying to make him feel comfortable.
Though that was just Inumaki being his usual kind self. Always making sure people around him felt fine, loved and listened. So, the next time he started dancing, Yuuta didn't hesitate before approaching him.
Inumaki is a good dancer, Yuuta is whipped, and the both of them have trouble sleeping. They figure it out, somehow.

Summary
Yuuta no estaba seguro de si la experiencia compartida de matar maldiciones tuviera algo que ver, pero debía admitir que comprender a Inumaki Toge fue mucho más sencillo a partir de allí. También le ayudó a ver que, desde sus primeros días en la escuela de hechicería, todo lo que Inumaki había hecho era tratar de hacerlo sentir cómodo y bienvenido, aun si sus métodos distaban de ser ortodoxos.
Aunque ese era solo Inumaki siendo Inumaki —amable y considerado, siempre asegurándose de que la gente a su alrededor estuviera bien, especialmente aquellos para quienes reservaba su afecto.
Por eso, la siguiente vez que Inumaki comenzó a bailar al ritmo de los quejidos de Panda siendo golpeado por Maki en el campo de entrenamiento, Yuuta no dudó antes de acercarse.

“That's dangerous! Do you know what happens if you hit someone with glasses?” Maki complained, snatching the phone from his hands and looking at it from a healthy, acceptable distance—and frowned when her brain processed its content. “Did you talk to him all night?”
Toge shaked his head, taking the phone to show her the other chat. The rest of the conversation was almost half an hour of texting about the past, Yuuta insisting that his presence was hard to forget, and Toge answering with light jokes so he could ignore his trembling hands.
“So he liked you! It feels so good to be right.”
Inumaki Toge's list of hobbies includes sleeping, watching comedy routines, and sending memes to his favorite singer's official account. Things change when he starts getting replies.

—¡Oye, es peligroso! ¿Sabes lo que pasa si golpeas a alguien con anteojos? —Maki se quejó, arrebatándole el teléfono de las manos y viendo su contenido a una distancia sana y aceptable. Frunció el ceño cuando se dio cuenta de lo que estaba viendo—. ¿Hablaste con él toda la noche?
Toge negó con la cabeza, tomando el teléfono para mostrar el otro chat. El resto de su conversación se reducía a no más de media hora de mensajes sobre el pasado, Yuuta insistiendo en que su presencia era difícil de olvidar y Toge respondiendo con chistes livianos para ignorar el temblor de sus manos.
—O sea que sí le gustabas. Se siente bien tener la razón.
Los pasatiempos de Inumaki Toge incluyen dormir, ver rutinas de comedia y enviar memes a la cuenta oficial de su cantante favorito. Las cosas cambian cuando comienza a recibir respuestas.

“And us?” Mike presses, a sick sense of deja vu creeping coldly over his brain.
Will exhales sharply, “We’re friends. We’re friends! You made sure of that. So I don’t know why you’re so mad at me!”
“Because it was supposed to be me!”
Will blinks, “What are you talking about?”
“I’m mad because it was supposed to be me!” Mike shouts it desperately, like a plea, like this is making him go crazy, and fuck, maybe it is, “After everything—at the end—it was meant to be me. Not him. I don’t want it to be him. I want it to be me.”
Or, Mike doesn't realize his own feelings, until Will's are staring him dead in the face. Vecna's gone, they're nearing the end of their senior year, and all of a sudden Will has a boyfriend. Everything goes downhill pretty quickly from there.

“Just saying, if you’re taking another hit, you should share it with me,” Mike says, and Will slowly tilts his head, drinking in every word. “It just makes sense. Like, mathematically.”
Will’s reddened eyes narrow, bewildered. “Mathematically?”
“If there’s two hits left, we’d each only get one,” Mike explains. “But if we shotgunned, we’d both get two.” God, this is the best idea he’s had in ages. He should’ve stolen Will’s weed, like, months ago. “That’s like, bang for your buck. This is simple math, Will Byers. Keep up.”
In which it’s well past midnight in New York, Will can’t sleep, and Mike feels like they barely know each other anymore.
So, they get a little high. Mike is very normal about all of it.
