Summary
Cain has been hammering it in their heads, 'Aaron is no family of ours anymore, steer clear of him and his snake of a husband'. Mack gets it, kind of. But now, when it's his feelings versus Charity’s, only Matty seems sympathetic to him. But Matty is now in Leeds, and Mack doesn't stand a chance against a Dingle baby, so.
The door opens, and damn, Mack really missed this face.
“Hiya.” his voice wobbles pathetically as his emotions finally start catching up with him, “I know for a fact that you have plenty of spare room.”
A muscle in Aaron's jaw twitches, before a smile blossoms, his eyes softening in a way that almost makes Mack sway on his feet even more, because finally someone looks at him like they actually care.
“Come here.” Aaron says simply, opening his arms, and Mack falls into his embrace, exhausted and at home.

Summary
There's quiet again before Vic speaks up, gripping the back of the couch behind Andy's head. "I can't believe you never told me…"
Robert scoffs, "You were 7, Vic. What were you gonna do?" Vic doesn't seem much placated by that, and she roughly wipes her eyes.
"You could've told me," Andy pipes up from the couch, still watching Robert like it's the first time he's ever seen him clearly.
"Would you have believed me?"
Vic and Andy learn something about their brother

Summary
“What’s your name then, Bartender?”
“Who’s asking?”
Aaron smiles. “Well, me, I guess, the bloke you keep pouring pints for?”
“Robert,” he provides.
“Robert,” Aaron enunciates, liking the sound of the name on his tongue. “Tell me, since you’re a bartender and all, what is the meaning of life?”
“You adhering to stereotypes now?” Robert questions with a sly look in his eye. “You know bartenders aren’t qualified to be actual therapists?”
___
Or: Aaron meets Robert one day behind the bar at The Lonely Badger, and the connection between them is practically instant. For a man who prefers to let people go rather than let them in, it's utterly terrifying, but still, he can't stop pursuing him. When he finds out who Robert really is, and that their connection goes even deeper than they ever thought possible, what started as a drink across a bar forces them to break free from the ghosts they've both kept hidden away.

Summary
Robert is forty years old, when he starts taking anti-depressants for the first time in his life. It’s not much of a birthday present - not what he’d imagined he might gift himself for turning forty, Robert of old dreaming of fancy holidays, and flash cars - but it’s the best gift he can come up with.
The anti-depressants come with a long list of side effects, and it's just Robert's luck he seems to experience them all.
