Summary
Focus returns to Tenna’s eyes in part as he smiles. He hums a soft chuckle against the glass that rests against his lips before setting it down to rise from his seat. He joins Queen on the opposite end of the table Spamton is propped up on.
Spamton meets his eyes without meaning to. His gaze sears like a spotlight. Has this room always been so warm?

"[ditto], tens."
the pen doesn't even get to dribble a drop of ink onto the page before a shrill ring echoes through the room.(or; an alternate universe what-if where Tenna reacts just a little faster and a little better when the benefactor calls, and he won’t let go as easily this time.)

Summary
Spamton scooped up the power cable, puffing out a breath and rolling his shoulders as he eyed the outlet on the wall. The moment of truth. In one swift motion, he knelt and pushed the plug into the outlet, turning and feeling along the casing beneath the screen for the power button. A springy click… and then his ears filled with the familiar high-pitched electric whine of a working CRT.
Oh, yeah. That’s the ticket.

Summary
Tenna was on the decline.
If he wanted to keep his name in lights, he would be forced to get a little help from an up and coming big name in Cyber City. While not particularly impressed by their first meeting, Tenna knows that this “Spamton” fella was his best chance of getting with the times or risk being left behind.
All he needed was a little guidance and all of that little mailman’s secrets to success. He would bring him in, give him a little sweet talk, stroke his ego, and get the guy to sing like a canary.
He’d been in this business a long time, while Spamton was just getting started.
This would be too easy, he thought.
But soon, he would realize that Spamton was a more worthy rival than he’d first suspected, looking to take just as much from him and more. The question was: who would win?
Who could play the long game,
And make it out to the other side in one piece?
