While Ace is away, Envy is tasked with pretending to be him to spy on Team Mustang. What they don't know is, since Ace is practically impossible to hurt, everyone at Eastern Command tends to get just a little bit rough with him.
This is a side fic to Cat of the Military, my main FMA/OP crossover fic. You could probably read this without context, since this is a fleshed out version of a deleted scene from there anyway so it doesn't even fit that fic's outline anymore. I just liked it too much to leave on the cutting room floor.
