Casita seemed feverish and shook the cabinet with a resounding no.

He laughs nervously. Looks up at her from where he’s curled up in between her dresser and the wall and gives her a tiny wave. She doesn’t look mad, which is good, because she looks a lot like her mother when she gets mad and Julieta is a force of nature (which is funny since Pepa is the one who makes storms), but she definitely looks confused. Maybe a little weirded out. But he’s come to expect that.
“What are you doing in my room?”
