Summary
The mouth of a fish was something a bit funny, he thought. Two halves, two halves that completed each other, connected by just a thin layer of skin that was a pain in the ass to separate. Two halves that kiss and form one mouth, and Atsumu thought he wanted to be like that with Shoyo.
Atsumu is a biologist in a bad mood, trying to dissect a fish, and he can't stop reflecting about who he is and how much he likes his best friend.

Bookmarker's Notes
How many fishes would fit in his lungs? Would they be able to hit the walls until it breaks? Break his ribs, his skin, get free from that poor excuse of an aquarium. Fish weren’t meant to be there, and Atsumu wasn’t meant to be in this body.

Bookmarker's Notes
Atsumu feels that perhaps he may be a speck in the universe but he has Shouyou in this world and they have a world of their own and in that world, Shouyou is the sun, and Atsumu is alive, occupying space, and constantly turning towards the sun, dancing under its light.
re-read 12/3/2026: atsumu and shou are genuinely just two suns and all their friends who are like family bask in their light and stay in their orbit always. i love love this fic always.

Summary
Tiny things.
Irrelevant, unnecessary little gestures that went almost unnoticed during the humdrum of everyday life.
But without them, those pieces left a hole. All cracked and empty, Atsumu craved to patch them up. Have his pieces back.
Interdependency. They’d grown side by side for so long. They’d parted and dodged and weaved through time, but eventually caught each other once more. There was no letting go now.

Summary
When he was small Atsumu believed in fairytales. At twenty-two, on the court, he believes only in himself; he is ruthless, and Shouyou is more ruthless still. But then Shouyou laughs and yelps when he bites down on an ice pop too soon and finds the most beautiful river Atsumu has ever seen and Atsumu thinks: miracles happen, regardless of whether you believe in them. On the long, long road home in the summer heat, they glow like hidden windows behind the roofs amidst the tall buildings.
What is forever, anyway?

Sometimes Shouyou smiles at him and Atsumu cracks, thinly, like dawn itself. This is how universes are made. This is what the beginning of the world is like.

Summary
Hiya, Shouyou!
Sorry I’m not there to greetcha like I’d let on, but I’ve decided to play the hard-to-get game that all the kids seem to be into these days. (I personally think the way I word-vomited out a confession at your feet only a short time after I’d realized my feelings was infinitely more romantic, but that ain’t the point, so moving on.)
Rolling his eyes fondly, Shouyou flips over the card.
In order to find me, this afternoon, you’ll be going on a quest to collect 10 of these notecards, along with a couple of extra things at certain stops. It’s not quite a scavenger hunt, because I’m not creative enough to come up with witty clues, so their locations will be pretty obvious. But until you’ve hit all 10 spots, your Uber won’t come to pick ya up and bring ya to me. So bring a backpack, and have fun!
See you soon.
Love,

And, like Atsumu has always done for him, he waits.
