In the universe, everyone has a corresponding freckle with their soulmate from wherever they may touch each other the most. Couples walk around, small dots corresponding with the person the universe decided was their soulmate. Some have one on top of their thumb while the other is on the inside of their thumb that line up when they hold hands. Another has one on their temple with their partners on their shoulder that match when their head is leaning against them.
The more the couple’s love grows, the more prominent the freckle becomes. Older couples have a prominent mark, while the younger couples are still light brown.
It’s always seen as a romantic experience finding out who corresponds with your freckle. People will brag about how they found out that they “truly knew it was meant to be”
Not for Tsukishima though.
He’s known who his universe-appointed soulmate was for quite a while now.

Tsukishima learns that you don’t need to marry your soulmate and instead finds his own.

Tsukishima wasn’t entirely sold on this whole soulmate thing. There were too many uncertainties, too many unknown variables for the universe to be able to pair him up with a perfect match.
AKA
Tsukishima just wants to live his life ignoring the marks, but that seems impossible when the universe seems intent on messing him around.
