Rey asks Ben to help her get rid of her virginity. They're frenemies, kind of, but she trusts him enough to do this with him, even if his personality is somewhat off-putting. That’s a good thing, though, because it means she can do a casual friends-with-benefits thing with him without feelings getting involved.
But she has several problems — to name a few: anxiety, general fear of burdening others with her emotions, total incapacity to be vulnerable around other people — so she needs to do this one step at a time, starting with kissing.
