In the grand scheme of things, seeing Roy cheerfully walk out the door wasn’t that painful. It didn’t hurt as much as dying. It didn’t hurt as much as coming back. Still, Jason didn’t actually like pain, and he knew if he gently demurred the next time, Roy would hear him. It was the smart thing to do, and that was why he already knew he would never, ever do it.
Roy shifted in his sleep, pressing closer to Jason, his strong arm slung heavy over Jason’s waist, his chest a furnace against Jason’s back. This was a bad idea. It had always been a bad idea, and it would be an even worse one in the morning.
But for now, Jason was warm.

Summary
The paper crinkled when he dragged it out from where he had stuffed it into his backpack, already ripped in the corners and scuffed from the harsh treatment when he ran to the gate earlier. He skimmed over the tags again, the first one being the one that caught his eye ‘military romance’, the rest of the tags weren’t too important as he ripped the paper. Sue him for latching onto it, maybe it was so hilarious that he could get through at least half the flight not bored out of his mind.
The ripped brown paper revealed a smooth black cover, a tunnel ending in a white circle with a soldier carrying another one over his shoulders, the title in plain white letters ‘Solider heart’. Soap flipped it, finding the reviews and a simple summary on the back. The author being anonymous, only the initials of what most likely already was pseudo name, ‘RS’. It held many awards, even called internationally best selling romance novel of it genre, which raised some eyebrows.
What had started as the longest flights of his life, turned out to be the shortest.

"Derek fucking Hale!"
The shout rang through the bar and for a long moment nobody moved. It was like something out of a movie. Everything just stopped; the music cut off; one of the servers had frozen mid-pour. Grady would have laughed if he weren't holding his breath. The kid straightened his shirt, a glimpse of stomach showing the curling edges of a tattoo on his hip, and strode toward where Hale was sitting in the dark corner. As one, every supe in the place turned to see Hale's reaction; the last person to try to confront Hale in here had left with a broken hand and a whispered threat that the next time Hale would rip their throat out. With his teeth. Unsurprisingly, Hale's face was set in its usual glower, although it seemed a bit softer around the eyes. It took Grady a second to realise Hale knew the kid.

This is not Bucky's scene.
Truthfully, most social situations aren't his scene, but particularly this one. He's closer to forty than thirty-five these days, and spending time in an overcrowded bar whose population tends to fall towards the early twenties side of the age scale is not something he particularly enjoys. If it was up to Bucky, he'd be spending his Friday night either in his office catching up on the Martinelli case or half-asleep on the couch, re-watching Criminal Minds and snuggling with his cat.
But, since Bucky sold his soul over to the Devil in sophomore year of law school when he made friends with one Natasha Romanoff, he's here, stuffed into a shirt that is a bit too tight around his midsection and jeans that he can barely sit down in.

It’s not in the same spot, it’s over his left shoulder blade, almost like it’s over the back of his heart, but it’s just as big. It isn’t black either, so it also doesn’t match any of his other rune tattoos, which Stiles can say with confidence without looking, are either black or blue. No, it’s a deep red, the same colour as Derek’s alpha eyes.
It is though, a huge ass matching triskelion permanently on his body, and he has no clue how the fuck to tell Derek about it.
