Summary
It was perhaps a bit worryingly easy to sneak onto the castle grounds to the point that it felt like a trap. That didn’t stop Martyn from doing it over and over again.
Within a mere week of the masquerade he had started casing out the place to try and meet Apo again. In his teen years he had done quite a few robberies before he realized it was easier to get people to willingly open their doors for you, but he still retained the muscle memory. What he had discovered was that the castle seemed more like it was designed to keep things in as opposed to out. Less a castle and more a prison, which was… concerning, but that just made him more determined to flounce all over that and slip in and out with ease.
Point being, the first time he had scaled the wall to Apo’s room she had nearly punched him right back out the window, but now they had a nice little thing going on. Martyn would help her sneak out, they would run the streets for a few hours, and then he would return her before her stepfather suspected a thing.

“He’s definitely not gonna wake up for his shift is he?”
Martyn and Apo sat on the edge of the cliff, watching the sun slowly sink beneath the land below. Sausage had basically passed out the second they had set up the sleep watch rotations, snoring away peacefully in a little crevice carved out of the rock. He would definitely not be spotting any vampires showing up to turn the beacon.
Apo snorted and tucked her knees against her chest. “Oh yeah, he’s definitely sleeping through it.”

Summary
Two days into Cherri leaving for a week trip to friends in another town Apo found a dead body.
She kicked its arm and the body groaned. So not dead then. Apo had been having a nice walk along the beach watching the seals in the distance when she had stumbled upon what she had at first assumed was an asleep one half in and out of the sea. When it didn’t spook and flop back into the water she had gotten closer and seen blonde hair and pale skin, and realized it was a– not dead, actually, the groan– body wearing a strange fur coat. Now she sat there staring for a long moment.

Summary
Curiosity killed the cat, but what's it do to the bat?
Exploring crypts is a great way to find all kinds of things. Alchemical recipes, spells, bones, colds. However, this time he's found something new - a book meant for vampire abilities. He's curious, it's the first one he's managed to get his hands on that wasn't going to be burnt. It'll be perfect for Cleo or Apo, but first he wants to get a proper look at it.
This changes everything. He might not be a vampire, but he's not really fully human anymore either.

Two people dwelled that quaint, quiet cottage. The first was reclined upon a plush bed, chest rising and falling slowly, with downy pillows holding up a tired head. The other was by her side, a chair pulled up close so their fingers might intertwine, familiar and fitting. Two people rested in silence by one another’s side, knowing and accepting and coming to terms.
Two people, but only one soul.
A soul that was, at that serene moment, flickering against the pull of time.

The sun rises over Oakhurst, warm rays glinting off the fresh laid snow blanketing the small town. The fields beyond its walls nearly seem to sparkle, blinding those who dare look upon it.
It’s beautiful. Gorgeous, really, if only Apo could find it in herself to truly appreciate the sight.-
Apo celebrates the Winter Solstice with the Militias whilst thinking about Cherri back home, and appreciating who she has now.
