Summary
As Pomni confides in her about that argument with Jax, Ragatha recognizes the words he once threw at her to keep her away. She sees through his tricks now and is determined to help him get better. Even upon realizing that he won't allow another person to come close to him, Ragatha is willing to sacrifice more than she is able to give at the moment.
It all doesn't matter. What matters is that Jax steps away from the edge he has slowly pushed himself towards with his self-destructive tendencies.
And if Ragatha has to use his own lies against him for it, she will.“Aren't I just a toy for you to play with? If I'm only that, my feelings don't matter. What matters is that you do what helps you. I can't tell you what that is. Only you can. But whatever you need, you can use me for it.”

“Jax, that’s not funny,” she tells him sharply.
“And I’m not kidding!” He raises his hands in a surrender. “Listen, all the stuff I listed out before? This ticks the boxes.” He then hastily tacks on, “It doesn’t have to mean anything and it doesn’t even have to be me. I only figured I was the convenient option, seeing as I’m already here.”
That last statement was very much untrue.
An encounter with an abstracted Kaufmo has Ragatha all shaken up. Jax helps take her mind off of it.

“Wait!” she blurts out.
Her exclamation catches the jester at the halfway point, prompting her to turn around.
She continues, “I-I changed my mind. I’ll go with Jax. You can go with Kinger.”
“Are you sure?” Pomni asks, eyebrows furrowing. “You don’t have to force yourself. I can handle him just fine.”
Of course she’s doubtful, Ragatha already showed her true feelings in her initial reaction to being paired with the bunny. It isn’t going to be a pleasant arrangement for herself or Jax. That much is obvious. Still, it’s a small sacrifice to make if it means keeping Pomni away from his negative influence.
“I’m sure. Maybe this can help us get along!” she smiles, though it feels more like a grimace.
A 'what if' scenario where Ragatha partners up with Jax for the gun adventure.

“Or else what?” he drawls smugly. His cheeks are starting to get sore from how wide he’s smiling.
Her mouth closes and opens like a dying fish. The panic only grows more and more apparent as she wracks her brain for a solution.
“Or else I’ll –” she stammers. “- or else I’ll never talk to you again.”
Something within him goes cold at the idea.
Ragatha gives Jax the silent treatment and it bothers him more than it should.
