Mobei Jun stops dead in his tracks, his arm reaching out for the banister of a nearby stoop. Shang Qinghua doesn’t love him. How many times has Mobei Jun told Shang Qinghua he loves him with no response?
His brain comes to a stuttering halt.
Wait…when was the last time he said he loved Shang Qinghua? His memory comes up empty. When was the first time?
Mobei Jun sits down on a stoop, practically falling, the realization rocking him to his core. His hands begin to shake, chills run up his spine and he feels like he’s going to throw up. It’s that feeling you get when you miss a step, like everything all of a sudden becomes misaligned. What you thought to be reality, is actually a skewed version of the truth.
He never said it out loud. He’s never told Shang Qinghua that he loves him. That he is desperately, relentlessly in love with him and there is no one else for him. He's never said the words.
OR: Mobei Jun Proposes to Shang Qinghua. Shang Qinghua didn't know they were dating. Mobei Jun freaks out about it.
