Choso's existence, by itself, was a sacrilegious act. Cast away from her family, forbidden from joining them, and stored in a dark, dusty temple like a relic too obscure to be appreciated. She wasn't even human in her father's eyes, and Yuuji didn't know if he could see her as one either. It felt wrong to give her a vulnerability that curses, by their very nature, could never have.
So, if Choso was wrong, then the pull he felt toward her also had to be wrong.
