Hornet sat down at the bar wearily and spoke. “Strongest thing you got.” Her feet burned.
“Rough day, eh?” Creige asked, sliding a drink across the table. Hornet grabbed it and it clinked against her claws. “Don’t see ya’ here often no more.”
“Here against my will.” Hornet explained bluntly, eyeing the drink. “Might need more than this.”
“Damn, alrigh’ then.” Creige took back the drink and slid the whole fucking bottle across the bar. Hornet was not fazed, popped it open, drained almost half of it, and set it back down. “So who’s the lucky bug?”
“The what?”
“You musta had a special someone who dragged ya’ ‘ere, innit? With the festival ‘n all?
“A… friend, asked to meet me here. I would hardly consider her a special someone. She is a very special bug, but I’ve given up on relationships like that due to my life-span.”
“Ah. Sucks for you, then. Hope ya’ have a good night ‘gardless.”
