    Summary

Shen Yuan was about to go see about long-term housing plans at the Warm Red Pavilion when a strike of inspiration hit him: The only people effected by the Extra Curse had been the Qianyuan and Kunze! The Zhongyong population was entirely unaffected. They were the only ones safe for Shen Yuan to be around.

So, after mulling over and dismissing most of the Zhongyong he knew....

Shen Yuan pounded on Yue Qi's door, making sure to put on his most wet, pathetic face. (That look had helped them get lots of coin on the streets, so Shen Yuan knew it was a fucking good one.)

After noticing an uptick in 'pair the spare' behavior in his friends and family, Shen Yuan comes to a horrifying realization: They've entered 'Extra' territory. When he's forced from the Bamboo House he turns to the only person he assumes to be safe, the Sect Leader himself. What follows is a tragic romance for Yue Qingyuan and a comedy of errors for Shen Yuan.

    Summary

“You don’t even count as human, and you still want to become an immortal? You’ve missed the optimal time to begin cultivating – what can you become? Even if you muddle along with him, that charlatan Wu Yanzi, he isn’t even guaranteed to want you.”

Shen Jiu growled, wrenching out of Qiu Jianluo’s grip to hurl an ink stone at him. He missed.

Shen Jiu saw the change in Qiu Jianluo’s face instantly, the man’s hand rising up and blocking out the glow of candlelight. His towering shadow was Qiong Qi given flesh.

Shen Jiu’s body froze instinctively as he readied himself for a blow.

But it never came, because when Shen Jiu managed to look up, all he could see was a man’s broad back swathed in black robes, his grip tight around Qiu Jianluo’s wrist.

“Qiu-gongzi, what could ever make you think that a charlatan like me wouldn’t want this boy as his disciple?”

Or: Shen Yuan transmigrates into Wu Yanzi’s body and gets followed around by a feral teenager called Shen Jiu… who is kind of obsessed with him.

    Summary

The boy was sitting cross legged, bent over and seemingly stuck in a continuous cycle of growing flowers and then letting them wither with what they could only guess to be spiritual power. Mud and dirt caked the boy, but his features could still be seen. He was wearing dark emerald robes that would’ve looked like black in the shaded forest if it wasn’t for the ray of light breaking through the leaves to paint the boy in a shimmering gold. The boys long hair was flowing freely behind him back, the black locks lying limp behind him in his sitting position.

He grew a flower, the deep crimson color reminding Shen Jiu of blood. Then he continued to pour qi into the already bloomed bud, causing it to shrivel in on itself and die.

Then he grew the flower again. Then watched it die.

Again and again. Like he was waiting for something new to happen without changing his action.

“Who are you?” Fu Guiying asked hesitantly. The boy had yet to look up, showing no signs of recognition for the humans now standing beside him.

    The boy looked up.

Green eyes that matched Shen Jiu’s own stared at him. The boys eyes looked dead. He looked haunted, like he had seen something he could never unsee.
