"You were staring, so I thought you wanted to try." He licks the faint coat of cream on his bottom lip with a dart of his tongue. (Katsuki internally screams, kills himself, and curses Todoroki's entire bloodline.)
He wants to whack him on the head. No, don't offer me your ice cream. This is not a thing between us. What makes you think it's a thing between us?
"I don't wanna try your stupid ice cream." He settles on saying instead, and Todoroki shrugs.
"It tastes good."
He doesn't know why he does it. Really. But when Todoroki scoots just a bit closer and brings the mint chocolate to him, he can't help but lean in. He tastes the soft, melting ice cream as Todoroki holds it steady for him, and when he pulls away, he catches eyes watching his lips.

the way tdbk is written in this one actually makes me want to kill myself a little cause its. so. good. like ??? the petty bickering ??? shouto just effortlessly matching katsuki’s freak ?? YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THEY ARE SO INCREDIBLY DEAR TO ME. also the push and pull is so canon to me. tdbk is def the type to have some sort of situationship first before they get their shit together and actually date.

Shouto blinks, because Bakugou’s music has never made him feel anything but an inexplicable feeling of freedom. But that’s the beauty of it, he supposes — that the meaning of music lies in the ears of its beholder.
“I don’t know,” he answers honestly. “But I think it’s beautiful.”

Summary
The jar is filled with small stones, plucked one by one from their garden by Shouto’s careful hands. One for every good day, two hundred and some or perhaps three hundred, because the year has been kind and he chooses to be hopeful. And when January comes, he’ll spill his jar of good days back to the earth like an offering, a prayer that he’ll keep another year in health and love, solid with the weight of three hundred more stones.
You need higher standards, Katsuki will say, but he’ll pluck up the first stone and press it into Shouto’s palm like a promise.

Summary
The two of them are standing next to each other—a captive audience to Midoriya and Kota roughhousing—when Kota hauls off and dick punches Midoriya as hard as he can, really not holding anything back. Midoriya goes down with a choked gasp that has Bakugou chuckling fondly beside him.
When Shouto looks at him, he’s smiling softly. Proud, like Kota just won gold at the science fair or helped a little old lady walk across the street.
“He’s absolutely your kid, huh?” Shouto asks, voice deceptively neutral. “Like a mini version of you.”
Bakugou shoves at his shoulder, rolling his eyes while trying not to laugh. “Shut the fuck up, Half ‘n half.”

Shouto’s been a nanny for the last few years and is well versed in both kids and their high maintenance parents. He’s worried he may have finally met his match in “perpetual problem child” Kota—only to find out they get along perfectly.
His dad might be a problem, though.
