Summary
When childhood best friends fall apart, Kaveh is left in Gandharva Ville, spending his time painting and occupying his time at the paint shop, and Alhaitham, now living within Sumeru City, has become part of a wealthy family, inheriting his parent's fortune after their untimely passing.
When the opportunity arises for Kaveh to live within the city for his paintings, he is at a dead end, having nowhere to go, and that is when Alhaitham's grandmother reaches out to him, inviting him to live with her and Alhaitham. It's been years since they've seen each other, and plenty has changed, and not just in appearance. What should've been a simple trip to further his career journey turned into a life full of secrets and confusion, and left Kaveh wondering about whether Alhaitham really was who he initially thought or not.

The languid sweep of a broom; the textured turn of a page. A melody Kaveh doesn’t recognize overhead, barely audible, notes of a piano suggesting a moment out of time yet residing congruently. Something that would play in the quiet of one’s kitchen once a night of entertaining has ended, the cleaning has finished, and all that’s left is the fading echo of companionship and the gentle temptation of a warm bed.
Kaveh pauses in his cleaning. If Alhaitham caught his stare, it would definitely give him away—it’s missed, thankfully, thus Kaveh permits his gaze to take its time. Alhaitham’s got that dent between his brows again; something in his book must be vexing him.
