Summary
Long ago, there once stood the prosperous Kingdom of Hermitcraft, until it all fell down to destruction by the sudden revival of an ancient, yet forgotten evil.
The Admin and The Hermits were unable to stop such destruction, unpredictable it was. Taking everything they held dear.
In the end, both the Admin and the Hermits fell. Or so the people tells the outsiders.
The truth is, The Admin went to keep the ancient evil at bay, sacrificing themselves to act as the seal, while the fallen Knight, the last remaining Hermits, rest in a ancient chamber to rejuvenate until the day comes where he is to awaken. To that, the people of Hermitcraft await such day, not knowing when it would come.

Summary
Memories are harsh. They lay on a person and never leave their skin. Particularly emotional memories will seep in further, to the point that the original memory becomes a husk of what it once was.
For the players of the Life Games, especially the winners, this is the complete truth.
Arguments become background noise in the trivial anger and sadness that consumes the players.
Cross-season feelings aren't particularly common but are well known enough to keep players feeling salty after multiple seasons since the original dispute.
To deal with the overused angst, the gods have sent the winners to a new world, with memories played. They will only remember the game that affected them most.
Escape isn't hard, they need to bring back their friends and REMEMBER.

Or: The Life Series winners have to bring back 11 people, 18 lots of memories without killing themselves or each other in the process.

When Spoke opens the wormhole he clearly hadnt anticipated for it to go this wrong. Instead of inviting in the new players as he'd intended, it causes the server to colapse and shove them through the first best opening it can find.
That opening just so happens to be the rift currently growing on hermitcraft, despite the servers protections.
